Slicing the Three-layer Architecture: A Semantic Foundation for Behavioural Specification
نویسنده
چکیده
We outline a research proposal whose overall goal is to contribute to the definition of a formal semantics for UML, and indeed visual behavioural modelling languages in general. Specifically, we aim to validate the three-layer semantic architecture, used as a way of explaining the behavioural semantics of UML. The validation includes a definition of the semantics of UML actions and activities, as well as a prototype

Cluster Based Cross Layer Intelligent Service Discovery for Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks
The ability to discover services in Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a major prerequisite. Cluster basedcross layer intelligent service discovery for MANET (CBISD) is cluster based architecture, caching ofsemantic details of services and intelligent forwarding using network layer mechanisms. The cluster basedarchitecture using semantic knowledge provides scalability and accuracy. Also, the mini...
متن کاملSlicing behavior specification of components*
Being an important means of reducing development costs, behavior specification of software components facilitates reuse of a component and even reuse of a component’s architecture (assembly). However, since typically only a part of the components’ functionality is actually used in the new context, a significant part of the behavior specification may be superfluous. As a result, it may be hard t...

In April, 1997, the Process Specification Language (PSL) Project held a Roundtable discussion at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The goals of the Roundtable was to assemble key champions and stakeholders of various approaches towards process representation in order to discuss the relative merits to reach consensus on a language architecture and to establish a technica...
متن کاملSlicing CSP-OZ Specifications for Verification
The combination of the two well known formal specification techniques CSP [Hoa78] for specification of behavioural aspects of systems and Object-Z (OZ) for specification of data aspects of systems into the specification language CSP-OZ [Fis97] has already been subject of intense research. An important challenge is their inherent complexity which quickly goes beyond the scope of current analysis...
